How Living With Obesity or Overweight Can Affect Your Health

Your weight is about more than just your diet and how much exercise you get. Obesity is a complex health condition, and there are several factors that can affect if someone is living with obesity or overweight. And these factors can be different for different people.

But because living with obesity can increase your risk of several serious health conditions -- such as diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancers -- talking to and working with your doctor and healthcare team about your weight is important. Together, you can make a treatment plan that's individualized for you to help you lose weight, if needed, and maintain a healthy weight.

Drs Donna Ryan and Amanda Velazquez talk about what they think everyone should know about their weight and their health.
