You know what’s better than just losing weight? Improving your health. For example, losing 10 lb can help lower your blood pressure, and it can help improve other obesity-related diseases like high cholesterol, high blood sugar, and arthritis.
It’s important to set realistic, long-term goals with your doctor. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to lose those 10 lb in 1 week, even with bariatric surgery. Losing weight in a healthy way can take weeks, months, or even years, depending on what your weight and health status are and what your goals are. And you may need to use more than 1 strategy or treatment to get there.
The key is to be consistent in your efforts and to understand that everyone’s weight loss journey will be different.
