Tips for Bringing Weight Loss Up With Your Doctor
Weight loss can be a sensitive subject for many people. But you are not alone in your weight loss journey. It is important to find a doctor or healthcare team member with whom you are comfortable talking about your weight, and who knows how to help you. If your doctor cannot help you, ask them to refer you to someone who can.
Some people can see their family doctor or a nutritionist, but others may benefit from seeing a doctor who is trained in obesity medicine and understands how to treat the different aspects that can affect your weight.
Even if you're not ready right now, be open to having conversations with your doctor. At each visit, ask questions and talk about different options that could help you lose weight, so that when you are ready, you can commit to your weight loss plan 100%.
